January's Newsletter

January’s Newsletter.

Hello Everyone and a Very Happy New Year to you all.

All set for 2016, our first meeting is going to kick off with a slightly different format with a more open group setting to discuss fundraising, program of events and maybe even a few socials!

December’s meeting saw Tone Gundersun attend and she gave some fabulous advice on surviving the festive season with the overall message being – it’s only one day, be mindful of what you are eating but enjoy yourselves. Thank you Tone, it was really informative and some of the quiz questions were a real eye opener! And I never get all the Reindeer names right – ever!!!!

The Volunteer Conference for Diabetes UK Cymru takes place on the 20th February at the Copthorne Hotel at Culverhouse Cross in Cardiff, please see Sarah for the contact details if you are wanting a place. Last years was really informative and a great day and I’ve booked my ticket already! I’ve also been asked to talk at the conference for about 10 -15 minutes on how the group came about and how we got up and running so it you fancy a free day out and learn something about our group, other groups and other individuals who volunteer and how we can do more by volunteering then come along.

Another short and sweet newsletter this month and over the holiday period it’s been a bit quiet but if there is anything you would like included in the newsletter in the coming months please come and let me know.

Have a great January
